Ideas for Your Speech

The first weeks of the current presidency should provide lots of things to discuss.

The best topics are those that are personal, connected, local, and recent.

And you only need a small number, so pick your best and most impactful topics.

And follow me on Substack or Facebook or Bluesky where I share specific current topics that may resonate with your situation or community.

Here are some other places to look:

Local Sources

Your local newspaper, Facebook groups, local area subReddits, local Instagram and TikTok pages, and any other locally-focused social media: These are the places to find the most direct impacts to your community. You might also find friends who will join you in your efforts to speak out.

Your friend and professional groups: Because if jobs or lifestyles are affected, they will be sure to tell you about it. And again, they will be able to add that personal perspective that is key to driving a hard edge to your engagement quest, and they may join you!
